Patriot Week is convening a tour of K-12 schools featuring a Frederick Douglass and Martin Luther King Jr. re-enactor. At each school, Judge Michael Warren will provide an overview of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. A nationally renowned Frederick Douglass/MLKJ re-enactor will address the First Principle of each day. Following the presentation, students will engage in a civic dialogue among themselves (in break-out sessions) and share their reactions and thoughts, including any policy recommendations about how to better fulfill the promise of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Those recommendations will be compiled in a report, which in turn may be used in an Education Summit and/or to lobby the Michigan Legislature.
